As strange as you might find it, your come-on of “are you a mind reader?…that’s lucky then” while staring at my ass is not getting me all hot’n’bothered. I know my work out leggings are awesome, but I wear them because they are super comfy, not for your pleasure. Also, when you stare at me unrelentingly from across the ellipticals, it seriously distracts me from my work out/netflix arrested development marathon. It’s not flattering, it’s not appreciated, and it’s not at all appropriate. Making a woman feel uncomfortable and unsafe is not okay anywhere, and gyms are places for personal peace, self-respect, and endorphins, not sexual harassment.

Rosario Dawson, Miss Representation (2011 Documentary)

I just can’t with the world.

Today I participated in University of St Andrews’ ‘Who Needs Feminism’ photoshoot. Check out their tumblr for loads more great reasons.

I wrote about the cuts to Planned Parenthood happening all across the nation, but particularly in Texas - cuts that are hurting millions of women and taking away their access to breast cancer and cervical screenings, among many other services, in a singular attempt to eradicate abortion.
