“The Sleep Between” -2007.

This installation piece is the work of ceramists and sculptor Ana England. This is a mixed media installation piece using ceramics and bronze. I chose this piece because it is very similar to the idea I was thinking of doing for my final project. I knew that I wanted to work with mixed media and I knew I wanted to use some sort of grid, so this combines the best of both worlds. England’s work is highly influenced by nature and science and combining the forms of nature with the grids and patterns we find in science. The mixing of the sharp bronze with the smooth and scientific forms of the ceramics creates a very interesting juxtaposition that I want to achieve in my work.
